Focusing Into Your Truth
How to Hold to Your Heart in a Perceived Confused World
Our world is seemingly in an extremely confused state at this time, and if you are allowing yourself to be fed by the external world in all its many forms it will seem even more so. Our external world is full of contradictions, confusion and questions, with many of us looking “outside” for the answers. There are so many people, groups, organizations trying to influence what we think, how to think, what’s right, what’s wrong, and they can’t all be right, and they all can’t be wrong. How do we separate out fact and fiction for ourselves, for our own sanity and clarity?
The answers are not outside, they lie within our own knowing, and within our heart. At this time it is most important to notice how our body is reacting to what we see, read and hear. The mind can befuddle and confuse us, with so much information coming at us 24/7, is it any wonder? The mind is built so brilliantly, it can be the wise teacher/guide, the genius, helper and… also trickster, and have us believe in group think and forget our individual guiding posts. How do we discern what it true, real and for our highest good?
Our bodies are an honest broker, one we can trust. When you are listening to someone speak, reading a blog, an article, watching a program, STOP… take a moment or many moments to slow down enough to notice how your body is reacting to the input. Are you breathing or holding your breath? Are you calm or agitated? Can you catch that rapid heartbeat or the slight clenching in the belly, the tightening of the jaw, are the shoulders tense or open? Is your body relaxed or agitated? OUR BODIES TALK TO US CONSTANTLY. It is a barometer for what is true and loving for us and a clear signal of what is not.
If your body is talking to you with any sensations arising, take a moment to review what you have just “ingested,”and allow yourself to close your eyes, get quiet, drop into the discomfort and ask your body.
Is this true? How do I feel when I hear or believe this? Is this how I want to feel, am I at peace or at war with myself in my mind and body? Am I connected to myself, MY values, MY beliefs, MY knowing of what’s true? Does this “sit” well in my being? Are these thoughts and feeling in alignment with who I am? Who I want to be?
By spending time with the knowing of the body, you will bring your mind, body, spirit into alignment.
